Department of History
The Department of History was established in the college in 1963 and Honours Course was introduced in 1995. Students of the department are meritorious, hard-working and they are encouraged by the teachers to reach out beyond the syllabus to explore local history and heritage in the form of field-works and surveys.
Highlights
- It has good collection of books (about 2500) in the Central Library and in the Departmental Library.
- The Department helped to create Bhatter College Museum in the Central Library.
- It actively participates in local excavation, exploration and documentation.
- The department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, surveys and educational tours.
