The programme was organized with the objective of promoting a strong sporting culture among young people and creating awareness about the importance of physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle.
As part of the celebration, football tournaments involving school students from the Dantan region were organized by Bhatter College, Dantan (Autonomous).
Boys’ Football Tournament:
A Four-Team Boys’ Football Tournament was organized with the participation of four schools from the Dantan region:
1. Sararang Madhusudan Vidyapith
2. Menkapur Krishnaprasad High School
3. Kotpada High School
4. Dantan High School
The tournament provided an opportunity for young footballers to demonstrate their sporting skills, competitive spirit, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
The team of Kotpada High School emerged as the Winner of the Boys’ Football Tournament.
Girls’ Football Exhibition Tournament:
To encourage and promote greater participation of girls in football, a Girls’ Football Exhibition Tournament was also organized.
The participating schools were:
1. Dantan Binapani Girls’ High School
2. Belda Prabhati Balika Vidyalaya
The exhibition tournament aimed to provide girls with a platform to participate in football and demonstrate their sporting abilities, confidence and teamwork.
The team of Belda Prabhati Balika Vidyalaya emerged as the Winner of the Girls’ Football Exhibition Tournament.
The programme was honoured by the gracious presence of Hon’ble MLA Shri Bhadra Hembram as the Chief Guest.
The programme was also graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Giridhari Panda, Principal, Bhatter College, Dantan (Autonomous), along with esteemed professors and faculty members of the College.
A large number of college students and non-teaching staff members were also present and extended their enthusiastic support to the participating teams.
At the conclusion of the football tournaments, a Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized.
To appreciate and recognize the efforts, participation and sporting spirit of the young players, Trophies, Medals and Certificates were presented to all participating teams, including the winning and other participating teams.
The recognition of every participating team was intended to encourage students to continue their involvement in sports and to uphold the values of fair play, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
