Background and Foundation:
The Department of Sanskrit in this college was established in 1965. General Course was introduced on 04-06-1965 and Honours Course was introduced on 19-09-1972. The Department offered both UG & PG(DDE-R.B.U) Courses. In the course of time the department has expanded itself as per the necessity of the students, society and locality. Many distinguished teachers served the department. It has good collection of books (about 2500) in the Central Library and in the Departmental Library. The department regularly organizes student-teacher seminars, workshops, special lectures, surveys and educational tours. The Department Introduced a three months Spoken Sanskrit Certificate Course for regular students in 2019.
