Background and Foundation:
The Department of Geography was established in 2003 and Honours in Geography was introduced in 2005. The department tries to create an environment that nurtures, motivates and inspires in learning the modern ideologies of Geography and is to expose students to the world of geography as an interdisciplinary subject involving other subjects of humanities and science. The department has an advanced well-equipped laboratory. It has a good collection of books (about 1000) in the Central Library and in the Departmental Library. The department regularly organizes seminars, workshops and other academic events.

Laboratory Facility: The Bhatter College, Dantan has established a good Geography Laboratory for practical works and experiments. All the necessary instruments for practical classes are present, e.g., Prismatic Compass, Theodolite, Dumpy Level, pH meter, Rota meter, Soil testing kit etc. We regularly update the lab-facilities as per the modifications and requirements of the syllabus.
