Bhatter College, Dantan was established by the local people of Dantan with a vision of providing higher education and technical education to the people of Dantan and its surrounding areas. It was a humble beginning but the seeds of promise were shown. In 2013 the college completed its Golden Jubilee. In retrospect, we find a glorious train of achievements centring round the college. In the year 2007 the college was assessed and accredited with Grade ‘B+’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and in 2009 it was recognized by the University Grants Commission as a “College with Potential for Excellence”. And in 2015 NAAC awarded Grade ‘A’ to our college, which is a matter of great achievement considering the fact that we operate from a marginalized location in West Bengal, further handicapped by poor economic condition of the people. So much of the credit goes to the students of this college who study and excel amidst many adverse external factors.
In our age of globalization and market economy higher education now is passing through a complex situation. Students need to be skilled to be professionally successful in a particular field. Bhatter College has constantly been trying to make the students not only knowledgeable but also skilled in their fields. That is why we introduced many vocational courses apart from the traditional ones. We encourage innovations and implementation of digital technology. In order to sustain and support new talents we have a number of support services for students. Above all, an ideal natural and human environment of our college, invite all to take part in the dynamic process of education.
Success, as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam said, is a “continuous process”, and our future depends wholly on initiatives we take in the present.
